This 4 week self directed online course covers the administrative procedures involved in writing a will, powers of attorney, administration, probate, distribution and other estate matters at an in depth level.
Topics covered include:
- Introduction to Wills and Probate
- Preparing a Will
- Preparation of Power of Attorney
- Gathering Information for the Application
- Preparing application for Grant of Probate
- Receiving Grant of Probate
- Administration of Estates
- Distribution of Estates
- Letters of Administration
This course is open to Solicitors only.
Approx. 4 hours per week is required for study. Regular weekly assessment tasks are required for successful completion of this course, including optional online chats; facilitated by an experienced Solicitor. Students will need to have high speed reliable internet, current web browser, email program, word processing software and PDF reader.
CPD Points:
While MCLE (CPD) is self-assessed, based on the course content of this course, practitioners can expect to be able to meet part of their substantive law requirements under Solicitors Rule 42 (up to 7 CPD points).
