Dr Alpana Roy (UTS) will provide an overview of international intellectual property agreements. In particular, Dr Roy will focus on the TRIPS Agreement (Trade Related Aspects of Intellectual Property Rights). She will also discuss the role of the UN Agencies, and will briefly consider some of the other major conventions relevant to international intellectual property agreements.
Trevor Stevens will discuss the direct impact of international trade mark agreements on Australian Trade Mark law and practice. The presentation
will include practical commentary on domestic aspects of trade mark law
and practice, including registrability, infringement, rectification and
non-use proceedings.
