Aims
This paper considers how to draft effective pleadings, submissions and advices using international legal sources in a variety of different contexts.

This includes matters which raise questions concerning diplomatic protection, human rights, maritime law and cross-border commercial transactions such as insurance matters.

The paper will also briefly review the essential requirements applicable to pleadings and other documents, primarily under the Uniform Civil Procedure Rules and Federal Court Rules, as well as offer some practical drafting tips.

It will also identify and consider a variety of sample documents available from readily-accessible sources.

Our speaker for this seminar is Stephen Tully, Solicitor and Member of the International Law Association.

He has presented several papers on international legal issues before a range of audiences including at academic conferences and CLE seminars for NSW Young Lawyers.
