This seminar will be presented by Mr Chris Maxwell QC who spent three years prosecuting cases on behalf of the United Nations in Kosovo. He will present an account of his personal experiences in conducting cases raising various questions of criminal law including individual responsibility for war crimes, some of the challenges associated with international organisations and identifying the requirements which Australian legal practitioners must satisfy in order to practice in the domestic courts of other States. The seminar will also outline how criminal lawyers can utilise and develop their knowledge and skills in other jurisdictions and provide practical advice for those interested in pursuing similar opportunities.
