Mark Dennis presents his detailed paper on sexual assault trial directions, including statutory warnings (such as when a complainant gives evidence via CCTV), as well as more general warnings, such as relating to delay in complaint, tendency or coincidence evidence.
Troy Edwards and Caleb Franklin present a co-authored paper on the current best-practice surrounding DNA evidence. They talk about a recent juror study on DNA evidence, which feeds into an update on recent case law, and how defence lawyers, in particular, can extract evidence to their advantage about how DNA evidence actually works.
